Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Abaloparatide is a synthetic peptide analog of human parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP), sold under the brand name Tymlos. It acts on the PTH1 receptor and, when given intermittently, is thought to stimulate bone formation more than bone breakdown, increasing bone mineral density.
What the evidence shows
Abaloparatide is FDA approved for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fracture, and later for men with osteoporosis at high risk of fracture, based on randomized trials showing reduced fracture risk and increased bone density. It has about 25 registered human trials, reaching Phase 4, and a substantial published literature. Evidence for uses beyond osteoporosis is not established.
