Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Adipotide, also called FTPP or prohibitin-targeting peptide, is an experimental synthetic peptide designed to bind prohibitin on blood vessels that supply white fat tissue. It links this targeting sequence to a pro-apoptotic sequence, with the aim of triggering cell death in those vessels and so reducing fat tissue.
What the evidence shows
Evidence comes mainly from animal studies, including rodents and obese monkeys, where weight loss was reported alongside signs of kidney toxicity. There are no registered human trials in the provided data, so its effects and safety in people are not established.
