CagriSema
InvestigationalAmylin and GLP-1 combination
Also known as: cagrilintide/semaglutide, Cagrilintide + Semaglutide, Semaglutide + Cagrilintide, Cagri-Sema, CagriSema 2.4
A real evidence base, with gaps
- Regulatory standing. In clinical trials, not yet approved
- Limited human data. Some human data exists, not conclusive
- Registered human trials. 31 registered studies on ClinicalTrials.gov, most advanced Phase 3
- No sources. Nothing cited to verify
Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
CagriSema is an investigational fixed combination of cagrilintide, a long-acting amylin analogue, and semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. The two components are thought to act on complementary appetite and satiety pathways, with amylin signaling and GLP-1 signaling both influencing food intake, gastric emptying, and blood sugar regulation.
What the evidence shows
CagriSema is not FDA-approved; it has been studied in about 31 registered human trials reaching Phase 3, with published results reporting weight and glucose effects in people with obesity or type 2 diabetes. Its long-term safety and effectiveness have not been established through regulatory review, and it remains investigational.
