Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Cetrorelix is a synthetic decapeptide that blocks gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptors in the pituitary gland. By blocking these receptors, it rapidly lowers the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). It is sold under the brand name Cetrotide.
What the evidence shows
Cetrorelix is FDA approved for preventing premature LH surges in women undergoing controlled ovarian stimulation as part of fertility treatment. It has a substantial research record, with about 140 registered human trials reaching Phase 4 and over 600 published papers, while uses outside its approved indication are less established.
