Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Goserelin is a synthetic peptide analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), sold under the brand name Zoladex. After an initial surge, continued exposure desensitizes GnRH receptors in the pituitary, which lowers production of LH and FSH and in turn reduces testosterone and estrogen levels.
What the evidence shows
Goserelin is FDA-approved as a prescription drug, approved for conditions including advanced prostate cancer, certain breast cancers, endometriosis, and endometrial thinning before surgery. It has a large body of human evidence, with over 400 registered trials reaching Phase 4 and more than 1,200 published papers.
