It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.

What it is

Menotropins, also called human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG), is a purified mix of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) activity extracted from the urine of postmenopausal women. These hormones act on the ovaries to stimulate the growth and maturation of multiple follicles. It is sold in the US under the brand name Menopur.

Automatic summaryHuman trials

Menotropins is FDA approved for stimulating the development of multiple follicles in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology such as IVF, and it has been studied in about 170 registered human trials up to Phase 4. Its effects and risks, including ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and multiple pregnancy, are well characterized in that clinical setting.
