Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
PNC-27 is a synthetic research peptide that combines a segment of the p53 protein's MDM2-binding region with a membrane-penetrating sequence. In laboratory studies it is thought to bind HDM-2 (MDM2) proteins found on the membranes of some cancer cells and form pores that lead to cell death, while largely sparing normal cells.
What the evidence shows
Evidence comes mainly from cell culture and animal studies, and there are no registered human clinical trials. Any effect against cancer in people has not been established, and safety in humans is unknown.
