Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Survodutide, also known as BI 456906, is an investigational injectable peptide developed by Boehringer Ingelheim. It activates both the glucagon receptor and the GLP-1 receptor, which is thought to reduce appetite while also increasing energy expenditure and fat processing in the liver.
What the evidence shows
Survodutide is not FDA-approved. Phase 2 trials reported weight loss and improvements in fatty liver disease, and it has reached Phase 3 among 28 registered human trials, but those later-stage results are not yet conclusive and long-term safety is not established.
