Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Triptorelin is a synthetic analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), a decapeptide sold under the brand names Trelstar and Triptodur. It initially stimulates the pituitary, but continued exposure desensitizes GnRH receptors, which lowers the release of LH and FSH and reduces sex hormone production such as testosterone and estrogen.
What the evidence shows
Triptorelin is FDA approved for palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer (Trelstar) and for central precocious puberty in children (Triptodur), supported by a large body of human research including nearly 300 registered trials. Uses outside these approved indications are less established and depend on the specific condition studied.
