Computed with the same four public criteria as every profile. The human-evidence grade on an indexed profile is set automatically and may change when it is hand-reviewed. It is not a safety score, not a purity rating, and not medical advice, and not a claim that this compound treats, cures, or prevents any condition.
What it is
Vosoritide, sold as Voxzogo, is a modified form of C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP), a signaling molecule the body makes naturally. It binds the natriuretic peptide receptor B on growth plate cells, which is thought to counteract the overactive FGFR3 signaling that slows bone growth in achondroplasia.
What the evidence shows
Vosoritide is FDA approved for increasing linear growth in children with achondroplasia whose growth plates are still open, supported by Phase 3 trials among 17 registered human studies. Its long-term effects on final adult height, proportions, and complications of achondroplasia are still being studied, and it is not established for other uses.
